REAL TANDEM HUBS

Because single-bike hubs and freewheels were never designed to withstand a tandem’s doubled torque, the rear hub on every Santana features stronger internals, disc brake capability, symmetric “dishless” design, widely-spaced flanges, 160mm spacing, and clearance for 11 cogs. The Hadley Racing hubs found on most models include thicker axles for extra strength, and cartridge bearings to eliminate maintenance.
